One of the hardest things to draw is the human body. Only a human face
is more difficult. I love the common pencil as an artistic medium. It is the most underrated medium, but it wasn't always
so. In the 19th century, it was more highly esteemed, probably because they weren't so common. It embodies simplicity, minimimalism,
and functionality. But even more than these qualities, there is its practicality and availability: there probably isn't a
person in the world too poor to own a pencil.
